Only a "small fraction" affected
MICROSOFT WILL BE re-releasing the Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 because of problems users are encountering with the current version, it was confirmed Monday.
Microsoft said on its
web site that some users are having trouble making connections to servers running Citrix, as well as compatibility problems with third party security software. Peter Houston, senior director of servicing strategy at Microsoft, said that the problems affect only "a small fraction of the downloads." According to
Infoworld, The Vole hasn't yet released a time frame for the availability of the re-release, and will not be removing the dodgy SP4 update rollup from its download page or from Windows Update. Users have been advised to read the website for more information on the problem.
