Microsoft shows partners its Vista timeline
SOFTWARE FIRM Microsoft is assuring its hardware vendor partners that there will be "broad availability" for its Vista OS by Christmas next year.
According to a document seen by the INQUIRER which shows the Vista "timeline", beta one will be followed by PDC, in September this year, when developers will be "engaged".
Beta two will be out by Christmas this year, with the full version available a year later. Microsoft's most recent pronouncements have put Vista as shipping in late 2006, but for it to be widely available by this time, it must be hoping it can press on regardless.
