Some tips for when all of your spyware/hijacker apps fail you.
These tips work best if you try them as soon as you run into trouble.
1. Boot into safe mode.
2. Go to your Windows folder and View->arrange icons by->modified. Scroll to the bottom and delete all icons dated today.
3. Do the same with your System32 folder.
For example. Let's say you were deep surfing adult or mp3 sites and got hit on 01-22-05. Follow the above steps and delete all icons dated 01-22-05. This assumes you didn't install any new software on the date in question.
In rare instances, I've had to do the same in my System and Internet Log folders. I'm now in the habit of checking these folders everytime I get done deep surfing.
