Most burning programs already support it.....which 1 is on your system?
If it's Nero,you can proceed...

I just tried to burn a double layer DVD with Nero 6.3 and it kicked out the disk. In the Preferences-Expert Features it only lets you set it at the max 4600MB. Is there something I am missing? My DVD burner supports double layer disks.
Thanx in advance...
WinXP SP2
512MB
PIII-Celeron 900 MHz
2 x 60GB
Upgraded to 6.6.0.8, still won't let me set Expert Features to more than 4600 MB. Does any other burning software support Double Layer?
OK, it turns out the drive isn't double layer capable like the manual says. I found this out on the manufacturer's website. Guess I'll buy another drive

i guess you might have misinterpreted dual layer as being the same as dual burners which is support for both the +R/RW and -R/RW standards.

newegg.com maybe
I got five free double layer 4x ones with my LiteOn dvd burnner.
Well nero does support dual layer. I burned one already. Though, expert setting is something else I guess because even with dual layer it says max is still 4600MB. Yes dual layer dvd r is setting in drive tray.
And that something else, my bet is that it only applies to single layer.
Oh and I have a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S if your wondering.
