Reinstall problem

I am having problems reinstalling Norton Antivirus 2002.
I keep getting the following Windows Installer message"The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation".....I did'nt set any policies??

This all happened after I botched an attempt to install Norton System Works 2002 professional edition onto my computer. I have already spent too much time on this problem. I now just want to reinstall NAV 2002 by itself again!!

Anybody please got any ideas what is going on with my computer and how to put it right again :-(

Have you tried un-installing Systemworks before installing NAV? Also one thing to check would be that you have admin rights when trying to install NAV. If all else fails, you can go back via system restore and see if it works

Man I hate that. I have had major problems with norton installs in the past. Try to just delete everything from Program Files, Common Files, Installers Files, the registry and even any remaining dll's you can hunt down

I have just remembered that during the install that went wrong I got a windows message saying something about a script error occurring and asking whether I wanted to continue running the script or not ..I chose NOT!!

I think that is probably why I am now getting the message "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" everytime I try to reinstall the program again?

I still have'nt a clue though how I undo this?
