who owns BetaOne??
and we have all those moderators, administrators, global admin and etc...
so who is who??
and what do they do??
working under the same company or something.......or they are located miles apart (haven't seen each other yet)

would really like to know more....heehee

BetaONE was founded on June 14 2001 by me, orig. My nick at the time was Originality. Since then we have grown to be quite a large site with quiate a large crew.

We are not located in any central office or building, rather we are spread out among the world's cities, small towns, and everything in between. Our crew may be spread out, but that in no way causes a flaw in communication. Ever since day one of BetaNet (that was the name of the site before we renamed it to what it currently is today) our crew has always communicated about not only the site, but their personal lives.

Our crew is made up of some admins that have been here since day one, such as BearCat, Rocky, and Sephiroth. We also have admins who are here because of their extremely developed talents, including pc_techie, Zone-MR, Lucky, Le Cactus, belthazor and derfy. The job of admin is not only to make sure the forum posts and replies are in line, but also to help keep users informed, updated, and satisfied with their BetaONE experience.

Our moderating team is made up mostly of volunteers. Many people request to be mods and want to give something back to the community, and this has happened since day one. Some of our first mods who are still mods today include pittpull, James55, DigitalSteel, A|V, NAAAARRRRF and DopeWeasel. Many other mods have come from the IRC channel, and from the crew fallout when many members volunteered. The job of a moderator is to keep each forum and every post within the BetaONE rules, and notify members if their post has broken a rule.

Of course there are some members here who used to be moderators but eventually didnt have the time or energy, and thus resigned. These people include TheCrossMovement, undac, hkey_root, Wickedkitten, unspec, and many others whom I've forgotten

Me, I'm the server admin and Mr. Fix it as Lucky puts it. If there is a problem with the server or the board, I'm usually the one that takes care of it. I'm from Nashville Tennessee.

Zone-MR is the local programming guru. He knows PHP, MySQL, Visual Basic, and other programming languages fluently. If there's ever a problem I can't fix myself or need help with, he usually does it. He's from the UK.

Lucky is the resident graphics man. Anytime we need graphics for the site, our sigs, etc. he's the one that does them all. He's from the USA.

RadiationBoy is the HTML wizard. Anytime I have an HTML problem that I just can't figure out, he fixes it. Once there was a problem with the site where there was a table that just kept growing and growing and growing and I pulled my hair out for 2 days trying to fix it and finally gave up, and he finally fixed it after a few hours, lol. He's from the USA.

Rocky is the youngest member of the crew and one of the most talented. He admins PlayONE and is from Australia.

Belthazor is the "moderation administrator." He's in charge of assigning mods to individual forums, answering any complaints they have, and things like that. He's also from the USA.

pc_techie is growing to be a great admin. He is good at adding hacks and new features to the boards, and like me, is still learning IBF. He is from the USA.

Le Cactus is the newest admin. He does a lot of stuff around here. He was a big big help during the move and did a lot of work in each site's admin cp so that I didn't have to do it, and is a big help in general. He is from Holland.

Someone can add more to this now and pick up where I left off

Hello! My name is Tubebuoy and I'll be your Mod this evening. All Mods are assigned particular forums where they will be of most use to the board.

Me? Well, I have no talent or skills (nor a sense of humor for that mater) so I've been assigned to the Chit-Chat and Comments forums. My main duty is to slap people up-side the head when they post inappropriate links and to move threads when posted in the wrong forum.

I'm also supposed to explain myself wile performing my duties. This usually involves things like "Please post news in the news forum" or "Sounds like a software problem to me, thread moved to software forum". Pretty heavy,huh?

At first glance this may seem a somewhat moronic position but, I happen to think it's the SINGULAR most important job on this board! You see, it's my "Go-Go Monkey" work ethic which allows the REST of the crew (the guys WITH talent, skills, AND a sense of humor) to provide YOU! (The member!) with one of the best experiences on the web by being able to concentrate on the OTHER forums where a little knowledge (not one of my strong points) comes in handy.

Rest assured member, ALL of the Mods here are just as serious as I am (minus the "Go-Go Monkey" part) in providing our members with as comfortable, informative, and FUN a board as we can.

I don't have any special talents or skills as of yet, but hoping to be good in HTML and learn IBF one of these days. I mod the community and the windows sections.

I live in the USA.

I also like to fish but that doesn't help any here.
