WHILE YOU'RE WAITING for the next exciting installment of the Windows XP Service Pack II (this time it's personal), the kind spinsters at Microsoft have released a set of demos so you'll be able to spot it in a police line-up if required.
Although the Son of Service Pack 1 will not be with us until July, the demos are meant to give developers a chance to familiarise themselves with the changes.
Mostly the service pack will be shedloads of security fixes to the patchwork quilt that is Windows XP. However Microsoft points out that these changes will have an impact on applications that developers create and the tools they use. The demo comes with a powerpoint presentation pointing out key differences in case you missed them.
