Ok guys, this should be an easy one (for somebody) Haven't used WinME in ages. My kids friend is trying to edit his registry. Gets a popup that "Regedit has been disabled by the Admin" I didn't know that ME has Admin privileges. I don't hace access to the machine as he's not aroud here, so this being done over the phone.

Any ideas?? I had him try to log off, click cancel at the logon screen, tried safe mode, etc. Same thing....Anybody know how to do this in ME???

TIA :P

google for poledit , see if you can find a copy, it's basically like 2k group policy and can be used on 9x i think, that might work

if you can't find it or haven't found something else to fix it by monday i'll try to grab you a copy of it then

There is a tweak for RegEdit in X SetUp under
System/Security/Disabled Features/

It says that if this option is set, the current user is no longer allowed to start regedit or regedit32.
In the case where a user tries to execute a registry-edit utility (NOT X-SETUP) a message will be displayed that this feature has been disabled.
