Need advice about roaming dial up isp's
I'll be living out of a suitcase for several months and need to set up a dial up isp with local dial up in France, as well as Canada.

I've never used AOL, but understand you must use their interface. Is that right? or can you continue to use IE 6 and a mail client like Outlook without mucking with their software?

Another solution might be Att Global, but their roaming costs are high if I set up from here.

Any suggestions? Tips?

Thanks.

Lets not forget about the box on AOL that pops up and asks...

Are you still working, answer Yes or No within 20 sec or we will disconnect you.

Yes this pops up and if you are using IE with the AOL junk min in the background, you will miss it and get disconnected. I understand there is a hack for it, but if you can just stay away from AOL at all costs you better off!

I was a long time member of Compuserve until they got bought by AOL, then it all went south. I never understood the popularily of AOL. Now, maybe Walmart is involved. It's sort of a conspiracy to take over the world. Old man Walmart was quite a guy and I admire him, but....

Pooman I appreciate the headsup on the experience you've had with AOL.

Sony, thanks for the link. I have two final options. Either sign up with ATTGlobal, to be sure, cuz I know they are reliable, or wait till I get to France and sign up with one of the freebees onthe link page you gave me.
