Internet Reminder Service

Couldn't find a good place to post this, I hope this forum is OK. Anyway, in the last couple of months I've forgotten two birthdays and almost forgot to renew my car insurance (things have been a bit tough in my life, other things on my mind). Therefore, I'd like to use an Internet reminder service, of which there are several options after searching Google. Rather than play hit or miss and end up with a fly-by-night operation, are there suggestions from B1 members who've used and can recommend a specific reminder service? Just need to schedule a simple e-mail reminder to my Gmail account, don't need anything much more than that. I'd prefer it to be free, but anywhere around $20 or so for a reliable service would be taken into consideration.
