Robert Skulj, an 28 years old hacker, who found serious security hole in electronic business system called Klik from Nova Ljubljanska Banka (Bank in Slovenia, EU), commited an suicide on friday. Skulj was, because of his hack into system NLB, threatened with criminal proceedings. He was found in his own apartment in the city of Trzic, shot in the head.
You maybe don't know what was the whole story about Robert Skulj and NLB, so, here it is:
Robert Skulj, did a lot of negotiations with NLB last year. He wanted to sell his 'Trojan Horse' to NLB for exactly 500.000 EUR (0.5 million EUR). In the package, which he wanted to sell was the Trojan horse itself and security fix for it.
In conclusion for negotiations, NLB didn't accept any agreement, but had brought charges against him october last year. Because of that, police arested him and took the Trojan and security fix.
After the law court found out, this isn't another penal act nor any fraud, the demand for investigation was rejected.
After that, Skulj was sure, he won a war against NLB, also because of that, the court found out, the security holes stories were real. Then he anounced he will sue the country of Slovenia and NLB for 200 million Slovenian Tolar (approx 850.000 EUR ~ 970.000 USD), because of what they did. Taking away his Trojan and fix.
Well, here is another story about a hacker, that just wanted to warn about large security hole the bank had. After he won on court, they started to break him...
Rest in peace, that's all i can say.
