Change the multipier to a higher one, such as change the default for example 7.0 to 8.0. or change the system bus, for example from default 133mhz to 150mhz. that's very simple. u can either do that by changing the jumper (or DIP switch) settings on the mainboard, or u can use certain softwares to do that(only for intel chips).

hope this gives you an idea.

Ken

Overclocking is tricky business, try going to overclockers.com for starters

Well, this sounds to me to fit more in hardware support so I will move this there

But... One of the best things to do b4 overclocking your CPU is read up some on it.
One of the best would be h**p://overclockers.com/

Take it slow, and don't go too far. The new intel chips shuit down when getting too hot, AMD does not (unless they changed that). On most CPU's the FSB is locked so you can only use the multiplyer... But on a AMD chip, you can use a pencil or conductive pen to jump two bridges on the CPU itself. But read up on that b4 doing anything

Have fun

Auhhh, Overclocking, a way to make your computer Go Faster and HOTTER, and last a Shorter Time, and be Less Stable.

Too bad the "Net" does not get any improvement from this. Make a list of what a Faster Processor will do to speed up the things that you run. My list is very small.

A Rule of Thumb that I use is: "If you want to make a noticable difference to how your computer runs you need to Double the Clock rate".

As i remember, the FSB is not locked but most of the processor's multiplyer is locked, right? If i am not wrong, if the multiplyer is locked, then u only can overclock by changing the FSB.
