#1 in Search Engine?

Im not sure if this is the right topic to ask!, but anyway....

guys just want to have an idea on how they do this. to make your web site to be number 1 in a search engine. ex. searching in google of "cotton in asia"...my site will in number #1.

There is a company offering this services but they ask to much for a yearly subscription....

what can u say guys....your inputs is very appreciated!

the easiest and most overlooked tip i can give you is make sure you use meta keywords and descriptions in your index page

an example might look something like this with keywords for microsoft:

<meta name="description" content="The entry page to Microsoft's Web site. Find software, solutions, answers, support, and Microsoft news.">

where meta name=keywords are the key words associated with your site, cotton and asia would be two good ones for the example you gave, and description is your pages desc, ie, for yours, it could be something like Asian cotton seller or anything you can think of

there are people too that can submit your site to search engines for a fee, but i've got a script around here somewhere if i can find it that will submit your pages for you to all the major search engine, if i can find it i'll let you know

Correct me if I'm wrong.. but didn't Playboy have Barney and Pebbles or something of that nature as metatags for their site? That is just wrong. My neice would of looked up Flintstones and got something quite DIFFERENT, same characters just... well YA.
