copy/cut/paste problem

i run windows 2k sp3, from yesterday i found that when i copy or cut a large file or a group of files to another directory or drive the system Idle between 90% t0 99% of resourse for a long time. i thought it was Powerdesk, so i uninstalled but happaned the same with my computer or windows explorer, please can some one help me to tweek this problem.
