I see this is out. You'll find the links in the usual places, but looks like the servers are really busy. Beta 3 is out too.

Clean blue desk top. Like most distros, it doesn't mount fat partitions, a feature I really like in SuSE 8.0. Otherwise, it has KDE 3.0 and GNOME interfaces, which are familiar. What I liked was the ease of installation on my Toshiba laptop, not always easy because of the driver problems for this recent machine.

I think he meant automatically. If this is the case all you have to do is edit your /etc/fstab.
For example,
/mnt/windows /dev/<windows part> vfat defaults 0 0

Mandrake Linux 9.0 Beta 4
Given the choice of enjoying the summer in beautiful southern California or working on the Mandrake Linux distribution, the twisted MandrakeSoft developers chose to stick around and present "Mandrake Linux 9.0 Beta 4."
As with any Beta, this one is probably loaded with nasty bugs which may cause serious problems on production systems. Betas are only suitable for installation on test systems -- you've been warned!

Thanks for the tips on mounting the fat partitions Cartman and craftyc.
RE the warning about beta, it's still a nice way to discover the changes planned for Mandrake. I'm impressed, by comparison to v.8.2, which I didn't like.

This beta should be *faster* . Not that they have a magic kernel or something but they compiled system wih gcc 3.2 which produces better c++ code so its safe to say kde/mozilla/openoffice.org etc apps will be faster....

I'm a RedHat man myself. They have 7.4 in beta atm.
