DVD RW Not Detected
Hey,
Just bought a Lite ON dvd rw drive.
Just hooked it up as slave to my Lite On cd rw but its not showing up in my computer of device manager. Yet it shows up fine in the bios.
So tried uninstalling daemon tools. No change.
Well ok so i switched them. DVD being master and cdrw being slave and now only dvd shows up. So tried another ide cable and same thing. WTF is going on here?
Anyone got any ideas,
Will

You might try deleting you primary and secondary IDE channels in device manager and see if it picks it back up.

I have found that when using 80-pin IDE cables, the end connector is for the master, the middle connector is for the slave. I've seen drives not work when not on the correct connector.

Yeah they are on the correct connector. I tripple checked. Thats why I was about to go crazy until Vinnie just saved my life. hehe
It worked Vinnie. Could of sorn i did that last night. Think i did but think i forgot to put the little pin it for the master. Just had it empty i think. on accident then forgot to do it again. So thanks a lot.
Now just hoping i can reinstall deamon tools and still be aok.
Thanks again,
Will
