It seems VERY slow and sluggish on my system and I have no idea why. When unchecking boxes, renaming the CD file exploring etc ...

System for reference:
PIII 1Ghz
512MB RAM
Windows XP Pro
HP 3100i 10x4x32 CDRW

Writing CDs (when I get there) is fine, its just all the preamble leading up to it.

Yeah, I have about the same system as you; I had trouble with it and went back to a previous version.

Any chance that you have unchecked the "Nero Check part" in the StartUP config.
