I really dont think that laughing at the mods and admins for trying to keep BetaONE a family oriented board is appropriate. Sinse you want some meat here is your first warning; 10%. I would think twice about laughing at the rules here before you post next time. -Jarod888-

ZO, why didn't you take this up with an admin instead of posting it?
Further discussion about it will need to be in private.

@Bel
Why private?? Isnt the concept of FREE and OPEN practiced here? Cant we discuss this openly as there is more than a couple of people here that think being "warned" is not a good idea. I will not stand by and be railroaded like last time.

If it wasn't free and open I would have deleted this post by now. We don't need to air out individual grievances like this in the forums. It already wreaks of flaming, whether the action taken was right or wrong. So IF you want it taken care of you're going about it all wrong.
My request is totally reasonable.

BetaONE is FREE and OPEN, as that is the nature of our community and family. However, one should NEVER attempt to through a figurative wrench into the gears. This is your community too, if you have something, that involves someone else and needs to moderated, please let any parental figure know about in private.
Whether you trust me, or any other "grown ups" (/me laughing at my age.. 23.), please let one of us know.
Growth and trust always hurts, its the nature of being apart of a family. You should know, as hopefully you still have family around or have one of your own.
Sorry if my comments are not appropriate. Whatever the case, I invite you to post your reply in this thread.
Cheers,
Cybey

I gave you the warning. We have established a set of rules, one of those rules, we do not allow flaming, which is harrassing or ridiculing of others, laughing at our rules to me is a flame at all the mods and admins hard work here.
We have established guidelines as to what people can and cannot post. The reason for this is due to the fact that we have a lot of younger members and it is inappropriate for those younger members to see or have to read post full of flames.
I believe if people would just try to see things from others view points and if they dont agree with them, then to constructively voice their opinion, not say something like: you are an idiot, what a dumb guestion, stuff like that helps noone. I firmly believe that it is your right your freedom to laugh at our rules, it is also my right to give you a warning for inappropriate content.
You see, like your quote says, everyman should listen to an opinion that infuriates him... I listen to alls opinions, actually I am probably one of the most liberal opinions about freedom of speech here, my issue with what you said, laughing at our rules really isnt freedom of speech, you were just testing the waters.. You would have never been warned if you posted something like:
Hey guys, I think the warning system is a bad idea. I believe that it limits what one can say. I see it as a pperfect option for anyone on a powertrip who doesnt like what somebody says.
I probably would have responded:
Well that is your opinion, however we feel that in order to keep BetaONE family friendly we will continue to use the warning system at our discretion, if you still feel that this is too much big brother, the feel free to pm me, we can debate and dicuss in private.
no warning no hard feelings.
See how much better that sounded.
LMGDAO just makes you look childish, but actual words and a debatable sentence make you look intelligent, people might actually listen to your opinion. No offence taken to your PM, as I will never warn a member based on a pm they send me, now dont think this is an open invitation to bash me, but if you have an opinion and you feel you need to use harsh language, or pound on your drum real loud, then by all means pm me.

@GSD; you alluded to being "railroaded" the last time...What "last time" are you referring to??
And, as Jarod as so succintley put it, this is a family friendly place, and peeps of ALL ages frequent us regularly.
We dont want to make this a place where some visit and leave because of the bickering, flaming, and generally dis respect others. As anyone who has been using the Net for awhile knows, there are literally dozen of places you can go for that...
What keeps people coming back here, and what makes our membership grow in leaps and bounds, I believe is the very fact we have RULEZ and Procedures here, and even though the most important part of what goes on here is FREEDOM OF SPEECH, those freedoms need to be diligently protected..
If not, we're no different than all those other boards that come and go...
Restrictive rules.....not here...
Common sense and the spirit of friendship and sharing....
THAT's US!!!

"ban me for my opinion"
An old fart once said "Be careful what you wish for." I think he was talking about a monkey paw or perhaps a VooDoo bat wing. Can't remember.

I cant really make sense of what this is all about, but I don't see why problems can not be solved by a pm.
And also not really sure why the warning level thing is such a big deal. If you read the rules and abide by them there are not going to be issues.

that is kind of the point. The warning system is in place for people who dont want to follow the rules, if you follow the rules then you wont have a problem with it.
