title bar---> microsoft visual C++ runtime library

error---->runtime error! program: c:\program files\norton internet security\introWiz.exe
Abnormal program termination

I am haveing fits with this and hope some one has the answer.

there was a uninstaller in,(I think it was 2001) the support folder.
But I don't know if it would work on 2003. But it did clean every Norton
Product on your System.

Is there anything in MSCONFIG that is starting?

Try
http://service1.symantec.com/support...01090510510636

Download,
http://service1.symantec.com/support...JMUK4/RNIS.EXE

Some info,
Situation:
When you uninstalled Norton Internet Security (NIS) or Norton Personal Firewall (NPF) through Windows Programs list or Add/Remove Programs, the process failed. You want to use the Symantec Rnis.exe removal tool to uninstall NIS or NPF.

Solution:
This document provides the latest version of the Rnis.exe file and the instructions for using it. This document applies to all versions of Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall.

Rnis.exe is a utility that removes the program files and registry entries installed by Norton Internet Security (NIS) or Norton Personal Firewall (NPF). Use this utility only if you cannot uninstall through Windows Add/Remove Programs or the Uninstall option from the Start Menu.

To use the Rnis.exe removal utility, download the attached Rnis.exe file to your computer, find the file in Windows Explorer, and then double-click the file name to run the file.

To obtain and use the Rnis.exe utility:

1. Log on to the computer. If you have Windows NT, 2000, or XP, use the Administrator account or a user account that is member of the Administrator's security group.
2. If you have Norton AntiVirus (NAV) 2003 and Norton Internet Security, uninstall NAV from Add/Remove Programs.
If the NAV uninstall fails:
a. Use the RNav2003.exe utility to remove NAV. To obtain and use the Rnav2003 utility, see the document How to uninstall Norton AntiVirus using the Rnav2003.exe removal utility.
b. Restart the computer.
If you have NPF rather than NIS, it is not necessary to uninstall NAV before proceeding with step 2.
3. Download Rnis.exe:
a. Right-click RNIS.EXE:
b. Click Save Target As...
c. In the Save As screen, navigate to a folder on your hard drive where you can save the file. For example, you can save the file to your Desktop folder.
d. Click Save.
4. Run Rnis.exe:
a. Open Windows Explorer and find the Rnis.exe file.
b. Double-click Rnis.exe to run the file. This file removes NIS or NPF from your computer.
c. Restart the computer when prompted.
5. Reinstall NIS or NPF. For instructions on how to install NIS or NPF, see the document How to install NIS or NPF.
