Hi,
This is what happens, I open a .pdf file in another window and it opens fine. When I close that window IE crashes and shuts down, no error messages. I'm running WinXP/sp1 and Acrobat Writer v5 with the lastest updates from Adobe. Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem. I went to Microsoft but didn't find anything and it's not just one site. I've tried a couple of sites and they all do the same.

Have you checked your event viewer to see if something wacky is going on?

Shiromagius,
Thanks for the info, I hadn't checked that. I crashed it a couple of times and checked and there wasn't anything logged. It's like IE freezes and then shuts down. No error messages either.

Hmmm, have you tried un-installing Acrobat and then re-installing? Does it happen ONLY with pdfs? Have you tried downloading the pdf and then viewing it (rather than viewing it in IE)? Just a few thoughts.

Yea, I downloaded another copy of Acrobat and installed, same problem. I've been doing a web site with a lot of applications in .pdf, I'm not having any problems opening them from the hard drive or editing them.

If you are not having any problems with opening/editing them once they are on your hard drive, then I suspect a problem either with IE, or the combination of IE and Acrobat working together. Maybe a re-install of IE? Sounds like a conflict with Acrobats plugin for IE and viewing pdfs in IE.
