TMPGEnc Problem

im working off of a special template i found on the vcdhelp site......when i load up my vid and wav file and i get to the end of the setup process and press o.k. it never starts up immediately, it always tells me that its anlyzing, and the bar thats on top to see how much has been encoded isn't moving and the numbers to the left of it to show how much is being encoded isn't moving, but im still getting a time of 2.5 hours even when it says it analyzing, but then when i stop the encoding process...it asks me if i wanna abort encoding..wtf...can anyone help me..remember im using a special template found on the vcdhelp site

Sounds Like it's dual pass and going thru the first pass. Haven't gotten to the encoding part yet so when he cancels it's still in encoding process. Won't see any progress until first pass has gone all the way thru. Then it starts encoding to a file.

since yall wanted to be enlightened..here is the excuse why which was answered to me form naother message board.............."It sounds like the template uses 2-pass VBR. In this mode, the encoder analyzes the movie in the first pass to determine the best way to allocate bitrate, and the second pass actually encodes the movie. The progress bar should move along and the "analyzing" should disappear at 50%.


btw 2-pass takes twice as long as CBR "
