January 02, 2008 (Computerworld) -- Microsoft Corp. cited Netscape Navigator, the browser that was discontinued by AOL LLC last Friday, as an example of why most provisions of the 2002 antitrust settlement should be retired. The Microsoft memorandum (download PDF) (http://www.computerworld.com/pdfs/MSFT_memo_Dec29.pdf) was filed in federal court on the same day AOL announced plans to discontinue development of Netscape as of Feb. 1.
