Is there a program or a device that will transfer your VHS tapes to a DVD. I would like to transfer family outings that were taken on VHS tapes to DVD. Is this possible ?

Yes it is, I do it all the time, and here is what I use the RADEON AIW 8500DV, Pinnacle Studio 8 and NERO, This does an excellent job my family looks forward to them. you will need a video capture card of some sort and alot of memory and alot of time..But it will be well worth it..

~*McoreD*~ is an unknown quantity at this point
if u got enough money (US$ 299) then i recommend you to buy the Dazzle* Digital Video Creator II external hardware device. it is so easy to use. real time MPEG2 encoding and a lot of stuff. check http://www.dazzle.com/products/dcs200.html and also check http://www.dazzle.com/products/vidcr2.html and choose what is the best. all you need after that is a DVD-RW which you may already have.

P.S: i use the Dazzle* DVC I as at the time i bought it, the DVCII wasn't available. now i suffer not buying the DVCII cos, it came soon after i bought the DVCI. note that DVCI only encodes to MPEG1 (VCD Quality) but the DVCII encodes to MPEG2 (DVD Quality).
