Samsung BD-P1000 May Not Support 50GB Blu-ray
Being first to market with a new technology is always difficult and news has it that Samsung's BD-P1000 Blu-ray player has hit yet another snag. Stemming from a passage in the instruction manual and supposed sources close ot the Blu-ray camp seem to confirm that the current unit does not support the upcoming 50GB Blu-ray discs. Ironically, the BD-P1000 was originally delayed to further test it's support of the discs, though the same sources claim the test discs were simply not made available in time. Those of you who dropped a cool $1,000 US on the unit shouldn't worry too much. Apparently the problem will be correctable via a firmware update. News source: HD Beat Read full story...
