Information Wave Technologies has announced it will actively deny the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) from accessing the contents of its network.

Full story "http://www.informationwave.net/news/20020819riaa.php"

And since AT&T is also being sued I suggested they disconnect their phone service to this organization and the record companies that they represent along with their distributors. Perhaps when the RIAA loses its communications it may learn a lesson.

Nice!

Yeah, I hope Phillips follows through with suing the RIAA for changing the specs of Audio CD (created and owned by Phillips) by adding copy protection which they are threatening the RIAA with because it too vastly changes the format of the disk. Imagine if every copy protected disk had to have a big sticker on the front stating, "This disk is copy protected, you may not be able to archive this disk for your own purposes"!! They would not even be able to use the CD logo since Philips owns that. They think sales suck now!! Heheh!!

I know the newest AC/DC and Bruce Springstein are protected, and it isn't because of warning labels either, no where and I mean no where does it state they are protected, won't play in my home theatere dvd/cd/vcd/mp3 player nor will they play in any RCA stereo....

Yeah The RIAA does sux - They now are trying to get it where the recording industry gets payed from used cd's as well. So when you go into your local used record store and buy a cd that means the recording industry is getting payed twice one for it. and if you would hock it and someone else buys it that means they are getting payed three times for it.

This is ridiculous if you ask me. I think the recording industry should be shot !!

and it's also about time someone would sue AT&T - I just wish someone would sue AOL

Yes, the american government is leading the charge for the greedy corporations, but they have plenty of collaborators in other countries too and the big corporations themselves are global.
