I have buy Gigabyte mother board IEXP for P4 .
I have one big problem :
If I use bios F4 everything works fine exsept temperature (P4 2266/533 in standby is 53 C).
but
i have download newes bios from gigabyte website F5 and F6
When i do upgrade from f4 ---->f5 computer become slowly and I can hear from my speakers HOW mAXTOR HADRD DISK WORKING.
It become so slow that i cant even look divx movies, but the temperature is correct.If i want hear mp3 I get a lot of noise from speakers ( i try all drivers from creative web page)
the same problem is if i use bios F6.

but then when i instal F4 again everithing works ok

Please help me with this probblem please!!!

Intel P4 2266 / 533 MHz
GigaByte IEXP raid
2 X 512 MB Simple technology
1 X 120 GB Maxtor 5400
1 X 80 GB Maxtor 7200
ATI Radeon 8500 Retail 64 mB
SB Live platinum + Live drive (latest drivers from creative web page)
3com networkadapter 10/100 3c50b..for ADSL
Real magic hollywod DVDcard

windows XP profesional eng I try all latest service packs

please guys would you be so kind and try to help me with this problem fast.
you can write me if is maybe problem in pci slots, but I cant understand if i use F4 bios everything works fine .

Shiromagius did you read the above post??

The only advice I can think of is....

a - if you have onboard sound, ensure ALL onboard options are disabled in the bios

b - Try allowing the bios to control your system resources as opposed to your operating system.

c - uninstall your sound card, uninstall ALL drivers for the soundcard, and ensure no "leftovers" are left in the registry.....then reinstall the sound card and DO NOT use the XP drivers - use the ones from the webpage
