Hi Guys,

You know when you intergrate Windows XP SP1 to Windows XP, the Setup.exe get's modified and there is an option to install Microsoft .NET Framework? Clicking that doesn't work because obviously the CD doesn't contain Microsoft .NET Framework setup.

Just tried copying the dotnetfx.exe to F:\SUPPORT\TOOLS folder but it doesn't work.

Can you guys please a give hand on this?

Thanks,
McoreD

Send a message via MSN to greypigeon
It's clearly explained on

Code:
http://unattended.msfn.org
You have to make a folder $OEM$/ in the root of your CD and make a batch file or .start.cmd and so on

Hope you find your answers there

I'm going to try for myself <_<

No thats the unattend way here:

http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applic...tframework.htm

He just means in the cd menu to install .net.

Just make a DOTNETFX folder and added all the files there. Just did it earler today since ingetergrating sp2 does not update 1.0 to 1.1. Luckly microsft intergrated build had it. So I just ripped the fles and added t that directory and all good.

Should be 35 files total size is 36.2 MB (38,055,445 bytes).

Thanks both of you for the replies.

Yes, I meant to install .NET Framework when clicked "Install .NET Framework" in the Windows XP AutoPlay Menu.

@Will, I extracted the dotnetfx.exe and there are only 5 files of 23 MB. I have had this downloaded:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...6/dotnetfx.exe

And the next problem is,

Tried the DOTNETFX folder in several locations:
F:\dotnetfx
F:\SUPPORT\dotnetfx
F:\SUPPORT\TOOLS\dotnetfx

But the installer doesn't start when pressed Install .NET Framework in AutoPlay Menu.

ok the files do go into CDROM DRIVE/DOTNETFX

There should be 35 files:

http://smittys.info/23202/report.html

Total Size Of The Folder Should Be 36.2 MB (38,055,445 bytes).

Since you already have most of that the DOTNETFX.EXE you just need the other 34 files which is just 13.1mb. I can upload it for you later. It only a 9.33 MB (9,783,688 bytes) rar file. That you just need to extract to your DOTNETFX folder as well. See you need more than just the 1.1 rediscrute DOTNETFX.EXE.

ok i will upload it here later:

Will, appreciate your help.

I still wonder why this is not available directly from Microsoft.

There are two versions of Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package
File Name: dotnetfx.exe
Download Size: 23698 KB

.NET Framework SDK Version 1.1
File Name: setup.exe
Download Size: 108757 KB

None of them come close to 35 MB when compressed or extracted. This is very unusual. What am I missing?

They do not have it avialable for download because it comes with WindowsXP Retail. Pro. and home so there is no need for them to host it. Plus the remain 34 files are only for WindowsXP Setup.

And yea it is not the SDK either.

I still plan on uploading the files. Just can't do it right now. FTP problems.

@McoreD

I have uploaded the 34 files to

Code:
http://users.pandora.be/greypigeon/friends/dotnet.zip
You only have to add the dotnetfx.exe to your DOTNETFX directory

Thanx Will for the explanation

Seems the files only work with dotnetfx (version 4.71.1015.0) filesize 20.153 Kb

Easier way
Make your DOTNETFX folder in root...
put your .Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package dotnetfx.exe in folder..
Rename the exe to setup.exe
Now make your ISO
