Audio Winxp Sp2 Build 2082 Bug Confirmed

Hey,

There is a bug in WinXP SP2 Build 2082 that causes audio not to remember its volume settings and blance.

This has been confirmed by private e-mail from microsft. Again it is confirmed. I can not post the e-mail as its against my agreement but I can tell u.

Anyways to confirm for myself and because of other problems, I just uninstalled sp2 and now its working fine once again.

So if you have this probally simply uninstalled sp2 build 2082.

Also, supposly some people had this problem with winxp sp2 beta 1 build 2055 so microsoft changed some things. Which had a neg. effect. I was trying to figure out what files did this but microsoft would not anwser so the only fix is to uninstall sp2. Unless somone can figure out what files are causing this and maybe we ourselves can fix it.

Since its just a minor issue and sp2 2082 is not "beta release" then it wont be fixed until the next beta when ever that may be. But it will be fixed. Thats confirmed as well. Been told its already fixed so.

But hey at least you can simply uninstall sp2 without lossing all of your settings and appz.

Update: Have been told only effects certian sound cards and may not effect onboard sound at all. Not sure about this at all. Was told by a friend. But I do know it effects at least some creative audigy and audigy2 sound cards.
