Blizzard has employed a well known program in their popular World of Warcraft software called "Warden". This software polices the use 3rd party programs such as bots or cheats. Privacy researchers have been able to keep tabs on the program's actions and making sure it isn't any cause for concern. However with the recent update (November 13th, 2007) to World of Warcraft Blizzard has inserted a cryptographic hash function into Warden making it near impossible for anyone to track what they're using it for. Now this isn't to say Blizzard is going to steal your information. All it would take is a rogue employee getting paid off or just angry at the company to slip in some code and have it run and return whatever they want. To add insult to injury Blizzard has been deleting forum posts without reply.
