In the case of Yahoo and Hotmail, you have to buy 'plus' service for $20 a year to do it. I wonder if gmail isn't the same, or you can't.

I buy the plus service from hotmail to do this because I've used hotmail universally even when changing ISPs. I don't see the attraction for web mail as the universal client, feeling Outlook is the best if you want something that will link cell phones and address books together with a sync program.
