Apple puts Intel Core 2 Duo in MacBook Pros
'39 per cent faster'
MAKER OF entertainment gear, Apple has upgraded its range of MacBook Pro notebooks by kitting them out with Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

According to an Apple press release the lappies go 39 percent faster than the previous generation of MacBook Pros.

The Pro models will also have double the memory, greater storage capacity and a FireWire 800 port. Of course it goes without saying that it is jolly nice to look at too, being made of aluminum and being only an inch thick.

Apple has apparently tweaked the Mac OSX handle some of the more esoteric features of the Core 2 Duo processors with the big idea of increasing performance. The 15-inch shipped today, while the 17-inch version will hit the shops next week. The 2.16 GHz, 15-inch will cost $1,999 while the 2.33 GHz, version will cost $2,499. The 2.33 GHz, 17-inch version will set you back $2,799.
