Vista may not be ready for January
Gates says he is only 80 per cent sure

MICROSOFT'S super soaraway operating system is still only vapourware with the outfit's supreme Vole Bill Gates saying that he is only 80 per cent sure that it will be in the shops by January.

Speaking to a congregation of brethren of the Volish faithful in Cape Town, Gates said that he was prepared to delay the launch still further if beta testing uncovered shortcomings.

So far. Vista has suffered more delays than the 8.30am train from Nottingham in Autumn and Microsoft claims this is because it has been put through extreme amounts of testing.

Gates told the assembled throngs that Microsoft had to get Vista "absolutely right" and if the feedback from the beta tests shows "it is not ready for prime time, I'd be glad to delay it."

It has cost Vole between $8-9 billion to develop Vista and Office, Gates said. He said the company's software partners, in developing and adapting their own products for the two launches, would invest 20 times as much as Microsoft. More here.
