jes. the laptop also has a printer port (LPT1) so there is no reason for the network card. the reason i'm doing this is to transfer 100's of .txt files over to the laptop. and just under 1000 MIDI files. so they are small, and I got the cable for free
so its not such a big deal. But i will have a look at your links and i will let you guys know what happens.
