Secret press conference in Israel
SOFTWARE King of the World, Sir William Gates III told Israeli hacks, in a secret press conference from which the INQ and other foreign journalists were banned, that Microsoft was gunning for Google.
He told them that Vole would make an aggressive push into the fast-growing market for Internet searches.
Apparently Israel is crucial in this particular war. Gates offered $1.4 million for local startups and pledged to connect tens of thousands of Israeli children to the Internet.
Gates said web-search technology still has room to improve and Microsoft will be leading the charge standing alongside its glorious Israeli allies.
Of course he might have said something else, but we have had to rely on Israeli press reports of the meeting because the foreign press were banned from the meeting.
It is the first time that Gates has been to Israel. He met with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Finance Minister Ehud Olmert, Microsoft employees and business leaders before flying to neighboring Jordan. More
