Redkitty thats exactly whats happening to my machine, i built a P4 1.7 about 3 months ago for wife, she was having probs OS so reformated the HD, inserted bootable XP started to install than recieved an error.. rebooted now just black screen.... the thing is that this board has dual bios and wouldn't expect both to crap out... do you think i need a board replacement?
another thing is in bios setup ..the boot up sequence was changed to 1 boot cd 2 boot HD .. and i dont think boot from floppy was checked ..silly i no... and with out a screen i cant change, i looked for jumpers to reset bios but i cant see anything..
the board is Gigabyte dual bios GA-8SDX P4 Titan seires ... any help would be totally appreciated..
