It's possible to install.

However you will not be able to run it without the Windows System you had your USB Drive plugged into. Office copies DLL files that are linked to the System so it is not possible.

Not all the applications act this way. For example: much lighter applications such as ServU, BitComet, Notepad2, 1000s of applications like these run standalone. Microsoft Office is not one of these.
