I did a system restore to reverse the 2 latest MS updates, but it made no difference.
I remember Stack Overflow problems from years ago, but never had any such problem until now. It could be related to memory not being available to Dos programs, but that does not make sense with the 2 gig of very fast ram and a 3.0 Ghz CPU.
