Hi KingCobra,
I am all for Microsoft selling AV for free. That would be great. I know this is my fault and I can't stop thinking that getting infected from a virus is not always the OS's fault. Apart from us there are millions of users who still clicks on unknown attachments. Not to mention they got full administrative powers to harm the system.
The point is, Microsoft has the complete control of the OS but the user has the complete control of the whole PC with the OS.
Most of these viruses, trojan horses infect your PC by replacing your system dlls and having registry entries in HKLM or HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. Microsoft AntiSpyware which is going to be free, can warn you when an application is trying to add values in to critical locations in the Registry. So if Microsoft can release an AntiVirus with real-time protection that warns you BEFORE critical files in Windows, System, System32 directory gets replaced by another file, I guess that would be a good solution?
Cheers,
