So long as they are purchased legally then there aren't any problems with telling you how to convert them
Use smart ripper to rip the movies to the HDD in MPEG format , use TMPGEnc express or plus to convert the mpeg to the desired format then use nero to re-encode and burn back to dvd. That's probably the easiest way.
