sometimes, especially if you live around a (rich) college campus, if you check dumpsters around dorms when terms change you might be lucky and find a laptop espeicaly at the international dorms, some of these students don't have room to ship things like laptops back. A friend of mine found 2 laptops perfectly working in the trash at the dorms last year when we went.
