Q: I have noticed that Windows XP MCE 2005 OEM edition can now be purchased from online retailers such as newegg.com, but I thought MCE was only supposed to be available preinstalled by system builders?
A: System builders can distribute singleOEM system builder product (which includes MCE) with non-peripheral hardware components. However, they are supposed to ensure that purchasers agree to the system builder license. The are not allowed to distribute just the single untits of software alone.
