Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 contain a new condition, which asks you to allow Windows to go and install future updates.

Oh, yeah! Read the Register article. This is exactly what I've been expecting from Microsoft ever since the Win98 release when they started trying to blur the line between harddrive files and web files. Along with their more recent bright idea to turn software into a subscription service.

And still the Microsoftie boosters keep telling me "Don't worry, can't happen here, nope, corporations can't keep screwing their customers and get away with it."
