i just installed a new motherboard ... changed from an intel 815 chipset to a via [something or other, new to vias] .. i got a bluescreen too

the thing that seems fix most problems of this nature is .. just boot to the xp install cd .. go through like you're doing a normal install .. it'll detect the installation you have currently .. ask you if you want to overwrite or repair .. you say repair .. and it just goes through the last part of the install process .. redetects all your hardware, resets configurations .. and bam .. you're back up

[by resets configurations .. i mean stuff that doesn't fall within the realm of 'user customizations' .. so you most likely won't lose any of your stuff]

hope this helps
