I've had similar problems that was caused by hardware that was not compatible with xp. maybe you should check out h*tp://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/compati...ity/default.asp and see if all your hadware is compatible with xp. thats just a guess but it might be the problem...
could be something simple, i hade a joystick that xp hated for somereason and would crash all the time. but I unplugged the joy stick and everything worked just find heh
