Hi Guys and Gals.. I'm in a bit of a pickle. here is the situation. I removed a DC which was be the last domain controller for a domain in an existing forest right, dcpromo failed (some replication of changes made locally error). so i did a dcpromo /forceremoval to get it down.

Now it wont allow me to promote it again, metadata cleanup cant remove the domain because it is saying that there is still a domain controller in the domain, there is a registry setting that makes the server think it is a domain controller but I cant remember where to find the key. basically I need to trick the server to think it is still a domain controller so I can dcpromo down again.

I know this can be done because I seen it b4. can anyone remember where to find this key in registry or can help in this matter?

sure do ppreciate it.
