Sure, the price point is very inviting, but if it doesn't stop viruses I don't care if it is free.
Note: I base my opinion on www.virusbulletin.com, where this product has twice as many fails as it does passes.

you'll notice that it got the 100% award for most recent operating systems,except win2003,which wasn't officially supported at the testing time.....
I use win 2k and win XP as dualboot,and Avast is tested with both of them and gets the 100% virusbulletin award,which gives me a pretty fine feeling
