Loretta Lynn?s much-anticipated new album, Van Lear Rose, is set to hit stores on April 27 and is the first set of new material by The Coal Miner?s Daughter since 2000?s Still Country. (However, she did contribute two new songs to the 2001 soundtrack to The Gift.) While that release came out on Audium/Koch, Lynn signed with Interscope for Van Lear Rose.
Comprised by 13 tracks ? all originals ? the CD has drawn some early anticipation due to the involvement of critic favorite Jack White. The White Stripes guru produced Van Lear Rose last year at East National Studio in Nashville, TN ? they finished in September ? and duets with Lynn on one song, "Portland Oregon," and writes music for one other, "Little Red Shoes."
