The setup on my ASUS mobo is under power/APM Configuration. There are 5 startup options: RTC Alarm (the internal clock), External Modem, PCI Device, Keyboard, and/or Mouse. The option with the RTC is any one day once a month, or daily at a certain time. I just tried it and it works as advertised. There is, of course, also the option of a restart in the case of power loss. which would also allow a similar action by using a lamp timer.
Checking out an automatic shut down software now.
