I have been using NAV since V1.0 (DOS). The only problem I have had has been only after I installed it on XP; after a few months, the scheduled scan stops working, something about 'rights' to a file. After re-installing it, it works fine again. I am using NAV 2004 Beta and haven't had a virus on any of my PCs, except for one time I got W32.HLLW.Qaz.A. after which I got Norton Personal Firewall. Symantec comes out with the new virus defs fast enough, that if you do get infected, chances are you are behind in the updates.
