I've tried test sites here and there with a few friends off campus and the speeds are horrific.
My college tunnels ANYTHING that is off of port 21 and blocks incoming port 21 transmission, thus making ftp(21) totally internal.
I thinking of tring a Linux varient to form a test site, cause I tried it once, and it FLEW @ 260KB/s ++
Can anyone shed light on what I can do to accomplish my goal. Note, I do not want to disturb the bandwidth of my place of education, I simply want to see if this is possible.
